The College Park Aviation Museum (CPAM) is excited participate in a nationwide museum initiative—the Museum Social Impact in Practice (MSIIP)—to understand, measure and articulate our social impact, the value and impact we bring to our community.

We are seeking participants to assist us in evaluating our social impact. Join the survey and get free admission to the museum!

How do I participate?
It's easy! We ask that you

Visit the museum 3 times before the end of the year (2025) - with free admission!

After your 3rd visit, complete a 30-minute survey to share your experience with the museum. You can take it at home or at the museum.

We encourage you to bring a guest to the museum who will also be granted free admission. You will be compensated for your time, and will receive a reward after each of your visits an upon the completion of the survey.

Participation in the study is completely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time or refuse to participate entirely. There will be no penalty if such actions are taken expect that you will forfeit your opportunity to attend the museum for free.​

Participants must be 18 years and older.

Only one person from the same household can participate.

The College Park Aviation Museum may use quotes or other responses from the social impact survey in reports and publications. Any personal information will be kept confidential.
What do I get out of it?
We appreciate your time and feedback! To compensate you for your time and effort, we will provide rewards after each of your visits.

After the first visit, you will receive 15% off a gift shop purchase (20% for members), and again after your second and third visit.

After your second visit, you will receive a swag bag of gift shop items/CPAM merch.

After your third visit and completion of the survey, you will receive a $25 gift card to a local business, free year-long family membership to the museum (free membership renewal for current members), and enter a drawing to win a free discovery flight out of College Park Airport!
What is this survey for? What will my response tell you?
The College Park Aviation Museum is seeking to measure our social impact—the impact we make on our community. We are a part of the Museum Social Impact in Practice (MSIIP), a three-year initiative led by the American Alliance of Museums and funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

From the responses we receive, we hope to evaluate and draw conclusions about the impact our museum has on our communities. With these conclusions, we will be able to see where our strengths lie, where we can improve, and how to better serve our communities.

Your participation in the study is completely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time or refuse to participate entirely. There will be no penalty if such actions are taken except that you will forfeit your opportunity to attend the museum for free. As part of your participation, you and a guest will be given free admission to the College Park Aviation Museum. Additionally, you will receive the other compensation listed above.
FAQs
What do I need to do as a participant?
You will need to visit the museum, for free, at least three times before the end of 2025, and complete a final survey online after your third visit. The survey will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. You will be asked about your experience at the museum and to respond to prompts that measure social impact.

Participants are welcome to visit the museum at their leisure, stay as long as you would like, and explore what interests you.

After the third visit, participants will get sent the 30-minute survey. If you would like, you can also take the survey at the museum.
How many people can I bring with me?
As a participant in this study, you will receive free admission for yourself and one guest.

Within two weeks of receiving your completed online survey, we will contact you and will arrange to send you your prizes.
Do I need to check in at the front desk when I visit?
Yes, it is very important that you check in at the front desk, and tell the staff person that you are part of the Social Impact study. They will record your visit on our tracking sheet.
How long do I have to visit the museum?
We ask that you complete your three visits before the end of the year (2025), and preferably within 6 months.

For the purposes of this study, we hope to hear your feedback about the range of experiences the museum offers. Because of this, we encourage you to make some or your visits one of our programs or special events. You can see our events calendar here.
How long does each of my visits need to last?
While there is not a minimum time required, your participation will be more meaningful if you visit at least one exhibit and/or attend one event when you visit.
I completed a visit to the museum. Where do I find the survey?
You will only complete the social impact survey one time, and it will be emailed to you about two weeks after your third and final visit as part of this project or when we close the study in December 2025, whichever comes first.

When will I receive the social impact survey?
We ask that you visit the museum three times. Shortly after your third visit (estimated two weeks), you will receive an email from our staff with a link to the survey. The survey will take you around 30 minutes to complete.
What if I need to withdraw from the study?
Your participation in the study is completely voluntary. You may withdraw at any time or refuse to participate entirely. There will be no penalty if such actions are taken.
Does my free admission count towards events?
Yes! We have many exciting and popular events throughout the year, and you are able to apply your free admission to attend any of them. Just check in at the front desk when you arrive.
